Do you need an insert for your wood or gas fireplace?

Older fireplaces often have low efficiency due to their open combustion design, allowing much of the heated room air to be drawn back into the fire. This causes the fire to burn faster and waste fuel.

A fireplace insert provides an insulated, closed-door system, slowing the fire down and increasing the temperature of the fire for more complete combustion. This closed combustion system can increase efficiency as much as 65% and almost eliminate emissions.
